Reducing energy consumption is becoming a fundamental objective for every factory manager.
Reducing energy consumption and using energy efficiently have become key goals for the economy since the Kyoto Protocol (1997) where, as part of the EU target, Ireland agreed to limit the Country's growth in greenhouse gas emissions by 13% above 1990 levels.

Policies and initiatives have since been introduced in order to support industry in reducing its emissions in a sustainable manner.

How can you reduce your energy consumption?
Over three-quarters of the lifetime costs of a typical compressor can be attributed to energy costs. Moreover, several studies have shown that compressed air generation costs are up to 30% higher than they should be due mainly to compressed air misuse and wastage. However, compressed air is actually one of the easiest technologies with which to realise quick and significant energy consumption reductions!

There are large potential compressed air related energy savings to be made!
The initial methods used to identify compressed air misuse and wastage, for example leak detection, present great potential in creating no and low cost energy savings within a typical system. Beyond that there are significant savings to be made by integrating low carbon technologies.

C&L can assist in determining your compressed air energy related savings potential and recommend practices and technologies that can be implemented to create sustainable compressed air energy savings!
